I think I know why. Especially around 6-7pm, the 242 buses arrive after the schelduled time, so after all the passengers alight at the alighting berth from the previous trip, the BC immedately departs again, with no time for breaks. So they honk and tell the SBST people that they have arrived.Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:anyway , does the BC need to alert the passenger svc centre that he is going off - duty back to SLBP ?
cause , i noticed that when BC's are going of svc they honk a few times while making the turn before the 242/194/251 berth . and some green shirt lady/guy sitting in the passenger svc office will wave and the bus will drive off ! all of the buses do that ( i noticed )
Hmm , i think i have seen someone taking pics at Choa Chu Kang Int a month ago on a friday... camera im not sure and also i can't remember liaoOriginally posted by jetabt767400:Going a bit off topic actually.
I do agree with you guys that taking pictures in the interchange might land you into trouble, especially if someone from homeland security comes up to this website and see so many interchange pictures, if any. There would be increased possibility that terrorists take whatever picture they want from here.
For some extra information, I have been taking pictures in and around interchanges (Choa Chu Kang, the most frequent in 2005, to Sengkang and Punggol, Tampines, Bedok, the list is not exhaustive). Love for buses can surpass risk of taking pictures in interchanges, but not more to compromise our country's safety.
I do agree that I would decrease my photo exposure in interchanges, but if you do see someone using a DSLR to take pictures in an interchange (or beside the road), that would most likely be me (and say hi too!). Thank you for reading my crap...
unker, could be me also leh.Originally posted by jetabt767400:I do agree that I would decrease my photo exposure in interchanges, but if you do see someone using a DSLR to take pictures in an interchange (or beside the road), that would most likely be me (and say hi too!). haha... I dun think they will mind you taking pictures. Becos security isn't that easily breeched. Many new stuffs inplemented to make terrorists think thrice before striking on a point with no U turn.Originally posted by jetabt767400:Going a bit off topic actually.

i got 18-70mm stock also. i'm aiming at the other end i.e. fast lens, versus zoom lens.Originally posted by jetabt767400:I use Konica Minolta Dynax 5D. Got 18-70mm stock and one 70-200mm Sigma leftover from the film age, can mount, but only for taking aircraft pictures. Ok, off topic...
yeah, surely typo. i think 700m would cost a bomb to buy, and also to carry around.Originally posted by jetabt767400:18-700mm? That would be a monster! Typo error right?...
Anyway, I do hope Boon Lay does not become something that looks too alike to Sengkang, as Clementi would again be another residence cum shopping cum interchange. At least Boon Lay should not look too alike...
You sure or not? If all the JIS services were taken out, Boon Lay will still have 20 services left. 20 services in not 'very few' if you ask me, unless SBST has other ideas. Still need big space for all that buses. Personally, I think it is impractical to make the JIS end at Joo Koon and all the other services at Boon Lay. If people need a bus connection, then how?Originally posted by ^tamago^:yeah, surely typo. i think 700m would cost a bomb to buy, and also to carry around.![]()
boon lay may well look like sengkang if they move JIS to joo koon. then boon lay will have very few services running around and will need a small space only........
If they use the 405 queue, so what? Tomorrow got 405, meh? The hungry ghosts returning to their graves, ah? Why long queue very exciting? Ask the people at the queue and see if they are excited. I don't understand how you can find pleasure seeing people queuing up to board the bus. Is it a chicken 'thing'?[/i]Originally posted by chickenlittle2:oh, excited by tomorrow morning 179 queue. Dunno whether 405 queue would be used?
Mr Bus Guide (no wonder a bus guide cos dead brain and not updated), former 179 queue got morning queue and a normal one. it was because there would be a lot of passengers. A lot buses too.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:If they use the 405 queue, so what? Tomorrow got 405, meh? The hungry ghosts returning to their graves, ah? Why long queue very exciting? Not updated? You talking to me, chicko? Hah! You get excited seeing 179's queue and buses, something which I see everyday for so many chicken years and couldn't care less about. Many other people know about this for a long time too, so who is the one not updated? Like I said, lots of people, lots of buses, so what? Its not like the sky is going to fall or anything.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Mr Bus Guide (no wonder a bus guide cos dead brain and not updated), former 179 queue got morning queue and a normal one. it was because there would be a lot of passengers. I think they're supposed to use the 157/174 route, but if they're behind schedule, they use the 30/154 route.Originally posted by brotherchen1982:Svc 242 buses had 2 routes to the Temp Int during the express sector.
1. use the same route as svc 30/154/240
2. use the same route as svc 157/174/198/199
yes . usually 179 DD BCs who do 242 take the 154/30/240 route in the morning peak when the DD is super packed .Originally posted by stooper:I think they're supposed to use the 157/174 route, but if they're behind schedule, they use the 30/154 route.
I was on a 157 today, with the driver on his last round before going home. He was about 10mins early, yet used the 30/154 route!![]()
I've seen the white hair guy take the short cut when he was on his final round. Today, 9058B was on 9140X's timeslot. With a woman driver!Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:this has been going on since the temp int opened . only 179 BCs doing 242 do that ! . especially 9058B's BC, even when bus empty also use shortcut !
Yeah, being used... But I think it would be better if they place the normal 179 queue in front, like the old BNL interchange.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:oh, excited by tomorrow morning 179 queue. Dunno whether 405 queue would be used?
