SVC 307 and SVC 302 comes irregularly, especially during weekdays morn and weekends afternoon. Even though it is non peak. The buses will be fully packed.
For Weekdays tis is my observation at Kranji.
1) Sv 160/ 170 Red: Though may be erratic, but buses would usually appear by 15 mins.
2) Sv 170X: There's buses to/ fro JB & Kranji. I believe it's e only reliable mood of bus sv from JB to Kranji during PM peak.
3) CW1: Weekday ninja buses appearing from dunno where. Buses from JB arriving every 15 - 30 mins, yet can see lots of CW1 n do see empty CW1 buses plying from Woodlands Rd (From Bt Panjang) passing by Opp Kranji Stn and proceeding to FUP.
During off peak hours, 170X runs in a way when e bus would depart as n when it's reasonably filled.
CW1 runs on jumpbus basis (it's hardly filled).
http://krisgage.livejournal.com/ has very interesting O305 interior pics.

Ok I move it there
hi Bus fans,
Can BC go off svc or must call Control centre if say late by 15mins ? Is there any rule stating if BC late by a certain timiing, go off svc ?
I boarded svc 33 at approx 0910am on 21 July 2010 at the outram park mrt bustop going to bugis mrt stn. There was a massive jam from cantonment rd/outram rd junction all the way to Hillstreet/ river valley rd junction due to an accident at the river valley junction, causing only 1 lane passable to traffic thus the bus driver was late, the first time i saw a bc arr / dep was -30min. WA i saw that, i ask him how come dun want to go Off svc ?? late 31mins liao by the time he reached Bugis Mrt stn.
His dep from KR is 0826 and arrival at bedok was 1000hrs. he was at bugis mrt at 10am. How sia ??
Also i'm not sure wat bus svc park where, but i'm generally confused when i saw svc 10 & 65 come out of ARBP when i thought it was BNDEP controlled, same for 154 i thought it was SLBP but saw it come out of BNDEP, anyone have any idea how do i check which bus svc comes which dep ?

this depends on e situation on the ground.
OCC can allow bus to leapfrog (i.e. go off svc) or call for backup buses from depots or other svcs to run on e affected svc (usually downroute).
e driver can go off svc only when he is instructed by e OCC to do so.
TIB1086D still got Cadbury ad, plus a window glass and the engine ventilation cover on the rearside got replaced, but KJDEP people forgot to spray SMRT livery on it, leaving the metal cover in white.
SBS8211G still has the Panaflex Free Shuttle route sticker at the side EDS.
10 and 65 are controlled by both BN and AR. then for svc 154, you must have seen wrongly

BC not allowed to go off service, BC now must complete journey regardless of schedule deviation.

No matter what situation on the roads, BC must complete the journey to the next point of interchange/terminal. If they will to do OFF SERVICE halfway, the passengers in front will be greatly affacted. However, OCC usually will follow back schedule by giving BC downroutes.
Sv 10 & Sv 65 are dual controlled depots.

leapfrog =/= downroute
leapfrog is when the bus is heavily affected by delays, e BC will put down destos. it will alight wadever remaining passengers left on board and will not allow others to board.
downroute is just starting a trip halfway along e svc route and making its way from there to its destination. this is common for SBST during peak periods, when demand is usually much higher than in off-peak periods.
All PIS on SMRT Buses had adopted a new PIS format since today. Please refer to the following explanations below for more details.
Old PIS [on most SMRT buses]
The PIS will now only show the bus stop description without scrolling* and will not show "Please move to the rear" or "Have a pleasant ride".
*If the bus stop description is too long, the PIS will still scroll but there will be no "Please move to the rear" message.
Example 1
opp Blk 628
New PIS [on TIB1062Y, WLDEP/AMDEP Habits and OCs]
The PIS will continue to show messages such as "Bus Stopping" and "Welcome Onboard". However, it will only show the bus stop description without scrolling*.
*If the bus stop description is too long, the PIS will still scroll but there will be no "Please move to the rear" message.
During off-peak day, the BCs of 911 and 912 (From Checkpoint direction) tend to 'lock' the passengers inside the bus for about 5 to 10 minutes while having a short break before continuing the journey to St 82 and Admirity Area respectively. This mainly inolves in rigids. Wonder will they wait patiently then.
