REVIEWS:
Mercedes Benz has seldom produce double deckers for PTOs. The most noticeable however is the MB O305. A workhorse for Hong Kong and Singapore when it was introduced on both's public roads and adored by many for its versatility and also its work rate and capacity in Singapore's 12m version.
Running on many long haul routes in Hong Kong, 68M,75K and also featured on cross harbour routes eg 105.
In Singapore, i had fond memories of taking the bus on sv196. The buses have a distinctive "tik, tuk" sound when the front doors open. The front entrance doors can open either partially or fully open with which one side of the entrance door bigger than the other side. Notably some of the buses have a screeching sound when the parking brake is released. Sitting on the rear was enjoyable as the bus had very good suspension... The interior flooring of the bus gently slopes upwards, making tall people bend slightly if they taking the rear seats.
Also plied on many old Jurong interchange services, 10,30,154,196,197,198. Feeder services 382,385 also used these buses.
